The City of Mishawaka

Mishawaka, Indiana, is a growing commercial city in Northern Indiana, located next to South Bend. 2010 Census results reported the official population of Mishawaka at 48,252. This ranks Mishawaka as the 17th largest city in the state of Indiana surpassing the cities of Kokomo and Columbus. Unlike many communities, Mishawaka has consistently grown in population, capital investment and assessed value for several years. But, construction and growth are not all that make a city great. Mishawaka is home to Bethel College, AM General's Hummer Plant, a beautiful system of parks and myriad cultural opportunities. 

The City of South Bend

The city of South Bend is the fourth-largest city in Indiana and at the time of the 2010 census had a total of 101,168 residents. Today, the largest industries in South Bend are health care, education, small business, and tourism.

St. Joseph County

St. Joseph County has a population of 266,931 people living within cities, towns, and townships. Within the county there are 6 school districts, a plethora of private schools, and a host of higher education providers as well. Important industries in the county are higher education, health care, manufacturing, grocery, media, navigation equipment, and insurance.

The South Bend Police Department has approximately 260 sworn officers and 102 civilian employees. SBPD services a growing city of over 102,000 residents.
